Gremlin Cabin - Alcove A2, Saturday Evening

Cara was not wearing a dress today. She was wearing her leathers. Her nice, comfortable, red leathers which were the only item of clothing a Mord'Sith needed or wanted to own. It didn't matter whether they were pretty or not because they were Her Leathers.

She was also steadfastly refusing to admit that yesterday had actually occurred, as that would mean acknowledging that she had worn things, said things, done things, and agreed to things, all of which had quite clearly not happened.

Since yesterday had not happened, and she hadn't said yes to any questions regarding how she was spending her time today, she also was not getting ready for any dances. Instead she was trying to smother herself with a pillow.

[For one.]

Unlike Cara, Clark believed in yesterday. Sure, people had been weird, but it was Fandom for goodness sake and Gala events didn't happen half as often as the weirdness.

So he opened the door to the proper cabin, actually expecting a certain hot girl to be all dressed up and waiting for him. When no one was there, he used his x-ray vision to find the girl he was looking for and wandered that way, a little confused. "Cara, why aren't you ready?"

Clark looked all kinds of ready.

"Are you sick or something?" Clark asked, the uncertainty written all over his face as he crossed over to her cot. "I thought those tea sandwiches were a little suspicious." Mostly because of the weird professor being the provider.

Clark gave his jacket a self conscious tug. "This? It's a tuxedo. I'm told it's appropriate for the event. Not that you look ready to go..." As much as he liked the form-fitting leather--and really, not enough could be said about that--it was not exactly party clothing.

"Huh." It hadn't registered with him before, given how awesome the leathers really were. "You had that dress yesterday...not that it matters what you wear, right?" If anyone could pull off leather at a dance, it was Cara.

"So if you're not sick and you're not gonna change, we can go now, right?" Clark was really weirdly hopeful that they could go out and have fun. It would be like a date.

Now that was a distracting thought for Clark. "...You know that isn't a terrible idea. Though, this is probably the only dance of the summer and I'd hate for you to miss it." And for him, shh.

He adjusted his tie thoughtfully and took a seat at the end of the cot, looking around at her alcove. "Makes this whole getup a little pointless, but hey, I'm only out the time it took to get it."

While he was no Martha Stewart, Clark at least had a picture of family and some miscellaneous articles of clothing strewn about his alcove to make it feel less like camp. He found Cara's strangely bare by comparison.

Clark grinned at that gesture. "I always heard girls like ties, but I never really believed it till now."

There was something very appropriate about someone tugging Clark around, given the odd little fact that he wouldn't budge unless he wanted to. But in her case he certainly wanted to.

"Oh? How's that? I always found suits and ties binding."

Okay, he liked her laugh and didn't care if he didn't understand why she was laughing. It was more than enough to encourage him closer at her insistence with a big grin. "This is a use I hadn't considered."

[identity profile] redandblueblur.livejournal.com 2010-06-20 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
"I admit," Clark murmured, "my imagination considered this for a little later." Because how could he not?

Now it was Clark's turn to laugh a little. "Actually, tradition." Just not one he'd participated in as of yet.

"It's a thing for people to uh...hook up after dances. Not that I assumed...um." Well then.
