While Rahl and Nicci were in a another part of the warehouse presumably making preparations for returning to the Midlands, Cara took a moment to evaluate her position. All things considered, it could be worse.

Sure, she was in chains, but the warehouse hadn't been set up properly for it, her feet were on the ground, and there was a support beam she could rest her weight against. And if she could felt the bruises forming under her leathers, well, she was Mord'Sith, she'd been bruised worse than this in play.

Besides, when all was said and done, much as he enjoyed it, when he didn't have magical cheats handy Darken Rahl wasn't quite as good at torture as he thought he was. Not by Mord'Sith standards.

Especially not when she knew she only had to endure this so long before they and she could end thing one way or the other.

Clark honestly tried to avoid the path to creeperdom when it came to using his powers, but after the ominous note on the radio and not seeing Cara anywhere in the dorms, Clark broke out the X-ray vision as he hurried through town.

It wasn't too long before he found what he was looking for and burst inside, moving in a blur of red and blue to Cara's side. "Cara! What's going on?"

No, he didn't think to release the girl before starting in on the questions.
