An Abandoned Warehouse, The Abandoned Warehouse District, Saturday Night

After her unpleasant surprise yesterday, Cara had not been particularly shocked to find the journey book on her doorstep this morning, or when the message telling her to come here had appeared in it earlier that evening.

She looked over the building as she approached, for all its apparent decrepitude the walls were solid and looked thick enough to muffle most sounds. As blatantly obvious traps went, a blind man could see this one coming, yet here she was, walking into it with her eyes wide open.

She paused in the doorway, hand on an agiel, letting her eyes adjust to the darkness. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. "What do you want, Rahl?"

[ooc: for two. Where she is, and who's she's meeting okay for broadcast, the rest not so much.]

And if Rahl wasn't familiar with Cara's wildly variable lying ability, not to mention hadn't spent a not insignificant portion of his afternoon hearing drunken squirrels making kissing noises at each other, he probably would have believed her.

"Now, my brother, I can understand the draw there." Much like Cara, Rahl didn't really have a concept of personal space, especially not when he wanted to make a point. "But I have to wonder at the appeal of farmers and blacksmiths." He didn't bother drawing attention to Nicci as he said this, he didn't have to.

Slowly, lazily, Rahl smoothed a palm over the back of Cara's neck. "I want you to come home with us tomorrow." He did cast a glance Nicci's way this time, amused to see her watching with equal parts disgust and satisfaction. Though maybe disgust was winning out. "You can have a proper homecoming at the temple. Since taking shortcuts didn't work last time, and poor Dahlia paid the price."

That last was unnecessarily cruel, but then, that's why he'd said it.

He grinned at the feel of twitching under his fingertips. "But the night is still young," he continued, his voice soft and unctuous. "So there's no reason not to make an early start of things."
